Woodrow Kroll: "Having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man." The Son of Man in Scripture is in reference to the Messiahship of Jesus.

John would know what Jesus looks like. But this is how he describes Him: "Clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. His head and His hair were white like wool,"--that probably depicts Jesus' wisdom and His judgment--"as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire" (Revelation 1:12 -14). Jesus is in the judgment business in the Book of Revelation. Those who do not receive the message of the Gospel face the judgment of the Lord Jesus.
